VOICE Presentation at Dadeville Elementary

On Friday, February 28th the elementary students at Dadeville School were able to

participate in the Vocational Opportunities Inspiring Children in Elementary (VOICE)

Experience. This activity is designed to increase vocational aspirations among elementary

This project was produced with input from several educators and community volunteers.

This fabulous program was offered to our students through the Dade County OACAC

office.  It is the expectation that by exposing elementary children to professional

vocations within their community, students will expand their knowledge base in their

own personal aspirations.

Students in grades 2-5 were able to experience career information from Ozark

Electric where they learned about electricity production and  becoming a lineman and

saw the uniform that linemen wear. S & H Farm Supply supplied information about

careers in selling and repairing farm implements.  From Arvest Bank, students learned

about careers in the banking field.  Information about careers in nursing was provided to

students.  Learning about fingerprints and the exciting world of forensic science was a

popular booth for our students.  Students also learned about woodworking as a career

and a hobby as they viewed different types of wood, saw blades, and unique gifts that

can be made.

Dadeville students and staff would like to thank Candy Hudson and her staff at

OACAC and all those who presented such interesting information to our elementary
