Dear Dadeville School families,
It is with heavy hearts that I share with you the passing of Superintendent Matt
Bushey. Dr. Bushey was lost in an automobile accident this morning just prior to
the school day. As you know, this is the first day of school and we understand the emotions that our staff and students are feeling. Counselors have been on hand today and will be in future days for those who need assistance.
The Board of Education members, staff and I grieve his passing and ask that you join us with thoughts and prayers for his family. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

Just a reminder Open House is Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Also don't forget to fill out the parent contact form and free and reduced lunch application that was mailed home. All school meals will be charged at full price this year unless you qualify for the free or reduced lunch program verified through the application process. Thank you and we are looking forward to the start of another great school year!
Friends of the FFA will meet September 1st at 7:00 pm in Ag Building.
Students in grades 9-12 wanting to participate in cross country, practice will begin tomorrow at 8:00 AM
Girls Junior High basketball practice will begin Tuesday, Aug 9th from 6-8 PM. There will be a brief meeting with parents at the end of practice that night. Schedule for the week will be 6-8 pm each night EXCEPT Wednesday. Wednesday practice will be 3-5 pm. Remember that students must have a physical on file with the school prior to beginning practice. These need to be completed every 2 years, so likely all 6th and 8th grade girls will need one. Call the school office if you need more information!
Also remember that players MUST have 14 practices completed before they can compete in their first game. If you have any questions at all prior to practice, feel free to contact Coach Roller at 417-777-1826.

Tuesday August 9th: 8:00-10:00am
Wednesday August 10th:
8:00-10:00am
Thursday August 11th:
8:00-10:00am
Friday August 12th:
8:00-10:00am
Boys must have sports physical on file before they are eligible to practice.

The Sac River Institute will once again be providing school supplies for all students. Students just need to get their own back pack and gym shoes. A big thank you goes out to the Institute and all those involved with organizing and purchasing the supplies!!
Middle School Boys Basketball will have open gym on the following dates from 6:00 to 8:00 PM: Friday July 8, Monday July 11, Friday July 15, and Friday July 22.
Congratulations to Josh King and Briar Clift for winning the State Championship for the Junior Division Bass Tournament! Way to go boys!!

Thanks to the Dadeville 4H club for power washing at the school this weekend as part of their service project!
As we plan for the Summer Reading Program 2022, we have spaces available for the afternoon session from 11:30-2:30 for current kindergarten-fourth grade students. If you are interested in sending your child to the program on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s June 7th-June 30th. Sign up forms will be sent home today. Please return this form by Tuesday, May 16th. Teachers are planning fun and engaging hands-on learning activities for your children to enjoy! Transportation and meals will not be provided.
The FFA Chicken BBQ & Chapter Banquet will be tomorrow evening May 14th at 6:30 in the gym. Admission is free and all are welcome. Awards and degrees will be given, and new officers will be installed. We will also hold a workers auction from which 30% of the proceeds will be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Thank you for your support and all that you do!
Krispy Kreme fundraiser orders will be ready for pickup at the community building 7:45am-9:00am and 2:30 pm-3:00 pm.
Buses will be about 10 minutes later than usual this evening.
Awards ceremonies will be May 20th as follows: Elementary- 9:00 am, JH/HS- 10:00 am
